Are you looking for designers skilled in all sorts of special tasks? Basia and Łukasz Echaust have a knack for tackling unusual challenges, and they always give top priority to meeting the individual needs of each client. Set up in 2018, Echaust Design stands out for its innovative approach. The studio specialises in private interior design – houses and flats – and turnkey projects.

A passion for architecture developed over many years

Basia and Łukasz Echaust are designers with a passion. Each of them has been fascinated by architecture from an early age. Home decorating games, computer games focused on interior design, endlessly rearranging their childhood bedrooms, TV programmes on interior makeovers – from concept to completion, and later also industry books and albums. A natural consequence of their growing passion was to pursue studies, which opened the door to turning their interest into a profession.

Echaust Design – designers for special tasks

It is this enduring passion for design that makes the founders of Echaust Design value challenges and strive to create unique arrangements. An example of such a project in their portfolio is an 80-square-metre apartment in Wrocław, which was designed entirely remotely.

Thanks to the open-mindedness of the investors, the duo completely modified the functional layout, demolishing the existing walls and replacing them with a new, unusual division that was much more in keeping with the residents’ lifestyles. The key to success was clear guidelines, reliable documentation and full commitment to communication with teams outside the studio’s regular staff. The timely effect rewarded the effort made.

What values and outlook guide your design work? What are your priorities in creating interior designs?

At Echaust Design, we believe that interiors should reflect the character and needs of their people – they should be beautiful, functional and timeless. We treat each project individually, with care and respect for our clients’ lifestyles. We work with passion and attention to detail, combining aesthetics with ergonomics. Our priority is to create a cohesive, atmospheric space that is simply good to live in. We focus on authenticity, reliability and partnership, because this is the only way to create interiors with soul.

Do you have a favourite interior design style? If so, what kind?

We feel at home in modern styles and enjoy designing minimalist interiors, but we always adapt to our clients’ preferences and style.

What materials and technologies do you most like to use in your projects?

Natural materials are particularly close to our hearts because they acquire a noble character with the passage of time. We most often choose wood and stone, and we also appreciate natural plasters and microcement. If the budget does not allow for the selection of the highest quality solutions, we opt for substitutes from manufacturers who focus on ecology and sustainable development.

What are your experiences of working with clients? What do you think is the key to a successful collaboration?

When working with clients, we focus on dialogue and relationship. Before starting work on a project, the most important part of the collaboration begins – getting to know the clients. Thanks to our original, multi-page survey, we are able to thoroughly examine the aesthetic and functional needs of our clients. This survey allows us to structure our work and provide tailor-made solutions. Understanding and open communication at a later design stage is another aspect of successful collaboration. The designer’s empathy makes the whole process very easy, and reliable and truthful information about the execution process helps to build the client’s trust. We have also been practising the principle of regular feedback for years, which facilitates cooperation and translates into mutual satisfaction.

Can you tell us about the most interesting project you have worked on?

Our most interesting, best project is yet to come.

Do you offer a consultation service?

Yes, we do.
