Are you exploring options for an interior designer who is not afraid to think outside the box and skilfully listens to the individual needs of clients? Karolina Gorwa specialises in making investors’ dreams come true, enabled by her many years of experience, a trusted group of suppliers and contractors, and an unwavering desire to expand her own knowledge. A graduate of the Silesian University of Technology, she has been running her own studio for 10 years, carrying out projects both in person and online in Poland and around the world.

Where technology meets art – choosing a career path

By her own admission, Karolina Gorwa grew up amidst sketches scattered throughout the house, large drawing boards and incessant conversations about projects. In a way, the choice of career path was obvious. However, the girl did not want to limit herself to creating objects that she considered too technical. Following her artistic instincts, she decided to study interior architecture. She soon discovered that this was the industry where she felt perfectly at home.

People and their needs – a specialist in making dreams come true

What she values most in her profession is the opportunity to focus on people and their everyday needs. The designs she creates are more than just a collection of colours, materials and furniture – they are harmonious spaces that live together with their occupants. She eagerly takes on a variety of challenges, arranging apartments, houses and mansions. She considers large-volume space designs to be particularly challenging, although she admits that they provide her with a lot of inspiration and reward her with equally great satisfaction.

What values and outlook guide your design work? What are your priorities in creating interior designs?

In my work, I definitely focus first and foremost on the client and their needs. This sometimes means a slightly longer process of discussing inspiration and creating concepts, but in the end, it always works out to the benefit of both parties. As a result, my studio very often receives positive feedback from clients who have already moved into the spaces we have designed, lived there for a while, and admit that they are exactly as they dreamt they would be.

Do you have a favourite interior design style? If so, what kind?

I feel comfortable working on modern, feminine designs. I am fond of gentle yet colourful colour transitions – in every style.

What materials and technologies do you most like to use in your projects?

Up until now, these were bold colour accents, terrazzo flooring and round mirrors in every form. I’ve also recently taken a liking to larger glazing and arches. My favourite design treatment is the extensive mirrors on the walls, which make any interior look special.

What are your experiences of working with clients? What do you think is the key to a successful collaboration?

Above all, the ability to listen – it is worth emphasising that it is up to both parties to listen to each other. In addition, inspiration plays a huge role in the entire design process. Both those that we discuss with clients and those that I then search out myself. The search for inspiration, which can then be discussed with clients, is perhaps the most important part of the collaboration.

Can you describe the most interesting project you have worked on?

In fact, each project is special and unique. With practically every project, something special happened that has turned out strongly memorable for me. Above all, it is about the wonderful people I have been given the opportunity to work with!

I have fond memories of the interior design of a mansion near Cracow with a spacious mezzanine and a tunnel fireplace connecting the living room with the staircase. I find this intermingling of rooms a very good design solution. The design of an apartment in the USA (Miami) was equally interesting. Through this collaboration, I was also able to travel overseas and learn how my industry and finishing professionals carry out their work in a different culture.

Do you offer a consultation service?

I wouldn’t call it strictly a consultation. Instead, I offer the service of discussing specific design elements.
