Kąty Proste – Paweł Biedrzycki
Paweł Biedrzycki – a graduate from the National Film School in Łódź – perceives interior photography as a non-obvious form of human storytelling. In 2017, he opened his own photography studio (Kąty Proste) and commenced working with architects from all over Poland. These days, he still fosters curiosity, openness and a desire for new inspiration.
Interior photography – storytelling about the individuals who inhabit a space
Paweł Biedrzycki – the owner of the Kąty Proste studio – is a photography graduate from The Leon Schiller Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź (Direction of Photography and TV Production Department). He also graduated from the Academy of Photography in Warsaw. Initially, his interests revolved mainly around documentary, which led him to the Sputnik Photos group and to his participation in a year-long mentoring programme under the expert guidance of Agnieszka Rayss.
A year of intensive work and creative meetings provided him with a lot of inspiration and helped him discover his own strengths and weaknesses. While he was keen to see his colleagues’ projects that had a human being at their centre, he discovered that he felt most comfortable photographing architecture and places. Nowadays, he sees his area of expertise – interior photography – as storytelling about the owners of a living space. His photographs are more than just raw documentary – rather, they are a non-obvious and poetic story about a person.
The Kąty Proste interior photography studio – the joy of continuous growth
Paweł Biedrzycki has been a studio owner for the last eight years. He cooperates with architects from all over Poland. Invariably, however, he appreciates those moments when a new person’s confidence is bestowed on him and they invite him to create a session, the culmination of their months of work. He also enjoys small successes such as publications in online and print magazines, which he often tries to initiate himself.
Despite his extensive portfolio, Paweł Biedrzycki still values the search for new inspiration. He regularly follows social media and interior design magazines, especially foreign ones. He also endeavours to bring home an interior design magazine or photo album from all of his travels. Thus, all the time, he is enhancing his sensibility, gaining new knowledge from the world of design and perfecting his techniques.
