Zuza Pikiel
Zuza Pikiel, an interior architect who runs her own studio, questions the idea of universal interiors. In her practice, she is not afraid to ask key questions and focuses on individualised solutions, in line with the motto: ‘Your home should be for you.’
Zuza Pikiel Studio – an architect with over a decade of experience
Operating mainly in the Tri-City area, Zuza Pikiel is a graduate of interior architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. As early as her studies, she set herself the goal of gaining practical experience – she worked in local design offices, and between her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, she went to Germany for a year and found employment in a small interior design studio in Düsseldorf. Upon completing her studies, she decided to work under the same brand as her boyfriend, an architect, but she quickly realised that she preferred to work on her own initiative. As a result, in 2014, she founded her own Zuza Pikiel Studio, which she has been running continuously for over 10 years.
More than just re-creation – tailor-made interior designs with character
As she gained experience on her own, she began to realise that her work went beyond mere re-creation and executing projects dictated by investors. Today, Zuza Pikiel offers clients her creative and imaginative support in creating interiors that have a unique element. The architect disagrees with the opinion that universal designs make for a good life – instead, she focuses on in-depth, honest conversation and tailor-made functions, details and colours. As she says:
I can design for anyone, but I don’t have to anymore. I want to design for people who feel the same way I do. I believe that this produces the greatest trust in the interior architect–client relationship and, at the same time, the best results that satisfy both parties in this unique collaboration.
